About Dr. Morrison

Dr. Morrison is known for his relational and collaborative style in psychotherapy. Whether you are seeking support and guidance in exploring identity, relationships, and life, or desire to achieve specific goals (such as overcoming anxiety or reconciling broken relationships), you will find that Dr. Morrison places a high degree of importance on developing a strong therapeutic alliance with his clients. All are treated with respect and compassion, regardless of age or circumstance.

Adolescents and Teens

Upon graduating with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1989, Dr. Morrison began building a private practice in the La Cañada area while simultaneously working part time at the USC Student Counseling Center as a clinical intern during and after graduate school. With seven years' experience at the USC campus and many more working with students in his private practice, Dr. Morrison developed a passion for working with young people. Depression and anxiety in adolescents, teens, and young adults are often manifested in ways that go undetected or are often misconstrued as defiance, laziness, lack of motivation, and avoidance. Establishing a trusting, safe, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship is crucial in helping these individuals to identify what is actually happening in their lives to work towards resolution, healing, and personal growth. Dr. Morrison has well-established, collaborative relationships with local schools, educational specialists, and medical professionals, providing clients with an effective teamwork approach to treatment when support is needed in addition to psychotherapy.

Adults and Couples

Dr. Morrison also has more than thirty years of experience working with adults and couples. Utilizing an eclectic blend of Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Family Systems methods, he effectively helps people resolve issues that make their lives difficult, and inhibit growth and relationships.
